The matches begin with a brief construction phase, where the team of criminals reinforce the house. Meanwhile, the Rainbow Six team can take a peek at their operations with remote-controlled drones.
Set for release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2015, Siege is described as a co-op multiplayer-focused game in which hostage-taking criminals have the means to transform their environments into strongholds, while Rainbow operatives lead assaults to breach them.
Producer Sebastien Labbe has hinted that the studio may launch a Rainbow Six Siege beta ahead of the game's release next year:
"What I can say is that for sure, we're no different from the other online shooters. We want to be online - we're providing a strong PVP game, and if we want that we need to create a community. So if we wait until the launch, I expect it will be too late."
