Microsoft's upcoming Gears of War game from new first-party studio Black Tusk will be an "innovative" product, Microsoft Studios creative director Ken Lobb said in a new interview.
"I actually have tons of respect for [Chuck Osieja, creative director] and all the guys up at Black Tusk," Lobb told Edge. "I think the reality is what we have is innovative Gears Of War. That's what I believe they're going to make."
Lobb didn't say what about the new Gears of War game, presumably in development for Xbox One, he thinks is innovative. But he teased that some of the concepts Black Tusk is working on for the game "are awesome."
Former Epic Games senior producer and veteran Gears of War designer Rod Fergusson is working with Black Tusk on the new Gears of War title, but former Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski is not. As for when we might hear about this new game, Fergussonsaid on Twitter, "soon…"
One likely avenue for such an announcement would be the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which will be held June 10-12 in Los Angeles, California. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer said recently that he's expecting an "army of huge franchises" to show up at the event.
