Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
for the PlayStation 4 will not have a Platinum Trophy available for
players to unlock, series creator Hideo Kojima said on Twitter today.
The reason? Sony doesn't allow Platinum Trophies for budget-priced
games, he said.
"The reason GZ doesn't have Platinum Trophy in PS4 is due to SONY's regulation," Kojima said.
"They won't allow us to have them for non-full price game." Presumably,
the PlayStation 3 version of Ground Zeroes also will not have a
Platinum Trophy.
The physical and digital versions of Ground Zeroes on PS4 will sell for $30.
The
news is no doubt a disappointment for Ground Zeroes players hoping to
add another Platinum Trophy--the highest rated achievement for
PlayStation titles--to their warchests.
Ground Zeroes launches tomorrow, March 18, for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PS4.
